Feminist Governance and Leadership Training in partnership with Shirley Otto

ICENA is delighted to announce its new workshop programme dedicated to feminist governance and leadership.

All workshops are online, however face to face training can be arrange.

About Shirley

Shirley has worked with a wide range of organisations in the Community and Voluntary Sectors in the UK. This includes service providers, self-help groups, community arts projects, collectives and housing associations. This work takes in: (i) training, in and out house, on management and governance topics, (ii) facilitation of team development and strategic planning sessions and (iii) facilitating action learning sets. Shirley has a particular interest in values-led governance, the dynamics of boards / management committees and the relationship between paid staff and their volunteer boards. As an activist, indeed as a ‘governance geek’ she is a member of Scotland’s Third Sector Governance Forum and a member of the Working Party that devised the Governance Code for Scotland.

Shirley has a doctorate in organisational psychology from the University of London, based on the study of the roles of chairs of boards and senior staff. She is also the author of a number of publications on governance and management in the voluntary sector.
