Course Description
This session is for anyone working with children aged 13+ and provides age-appropriate ways of engaging young people in discussions about online pornography. Participants will be provided with resources that can be used directly with groups of young people.
This session supports participants to understand young people’s pornography consumption and its potential impacts as well as illustrating ways to open up a discussion about pornography with young people to allow them to explore their own views, societal views, and the law.
The resources provided to be used with young people supports them to:
- understand what is meant by the term ‘pornography’
- know what the law in England and Wales says about pornography
- have thought about their own views of pornography and have evaluated the impact of pornography on individuals and their relationships with others
Course Content
The aim of this session is to open up a discussion about online pornography and the impacts it can have on young people as individuals and within their relationships with others.
Delivery
Three-hour interactive webinar or classroom delivery comprised of:
- Pre-session reading
- Workbook to be completed with delivery
- PowerPoint of relevant information
- case studies relevant to sector participants are from
- opportunity for discussion
Who's It For?
Staff who are required to deliver PSHE lessons sex and relationships, Safeguarding Leads or anyone who would like to speak to young people about healthy, sexual relationships.
Learning Objectives

By the end of the session participants will:
