This course equips participants with the tools and insights needed to create a safe, empowering, and collaborative environment for those impacted by trauma, while fostering resilience among practitioners themselves. Delivered in the format of a refresher training session.
Course Content
This course explores trauma-informed practices, emphasizing trust, safety, choice, collaboration, and empowerment. Participants will identify and address barriers to implementation, build confidence to overcome challenges individually and within teams, and deepen their understanding of secondary trauma. The session also highlights strategies for resilience and self-care in professional roles.

Who's It For?
Practitioners who support or interact with survivors of sexual violence during their journeys through the Criminal Justice System and have completed the initial ‘Trauma-Informed Training: A Journey into Trauma-Informed Practice and Care.

- Reflect on how you have put the ‘Trauma-Informed Training’ into practice.
- Have a more in-depth understanding of trauma-informed practice and the range of different ways you can embed trust, safety, choice, collaboration and empowerment into your practice.
- Identify the challenges, obstacles and barriers you and the court have, and might face, in implementing trauma-informed practice.
- Feel confident to overcome barriers to trauma-informed practice individually, in your teams, and through formal pathways.
- Understand what is meant by secondary trauma and how to build and maintain resilience and self-care in your role.
